ACCOMODATIONS+LIFE

THREE TYPES OF ACCOMODATION

If you are successfully enrolled at your dream university the next challenge is to find an accommodation in that place. Depending mostly on your budget and some luck there are mainly three different types available.

STUDENT HOMES

The most affordable ones are student homes, which are often located near the universities. These are really terrific and useful places for living with a vibrant social life. You will meet a lot of people from all around the world. The prize for a single room there is located between € 200 – 320 per month. Usually they have a limited amount of rooms available but there are waiting lists you can enter.

ROOMS IN A SHARED FLAT – WG’S

Followed upward in the prize range there are rooms in a shared flat called WG-Zimmer. You will find them in nearly all Germany cities and even in smaller places. It is a nice way to live because also you meet other people, improve your language skills and starts knowing much more about German culture and cooking habits than if you lived for your own. The prize will be around € 380 – 450 depending on the size and location of the flat.

SINGLE FLATS

Living in Germany has unfortunately become a bit more expensive within the last years. And also the number of available flats is limited and the demand is high. Anyway with some luck and the appropriate budget you will find one. The prize for a one bedroom apartment may start at € 450 for smaller cities and usually goes upwards to € 700 – 950 in the big cities like Munich or Frankfurt. For searching there are many search engines at the web helpful like Immobilienscout24.de or some local opportunities.
